There are few mandatory software installation needed to be installed before starting any GUI or none GUI Sitecore installations.

It gives error installing sitecore when you try to install without installing these basic softwares as prerequisites.

1. Microsoft Sql server and Micrsoft management studio with sa user and password.(accroding to sitecore version) for sql you can download the sql server.

2. Powershell 5.1 or later

you can check the power version in PowerShell window: $PSVersionTable

3. .Net Framework 4.7.2 or later

4. .NET Core 2.1 and later Windows Hosting Module

5. Web Deploy 3.6

6. URL Rewrite 2.1

7. WebPlatform installer

8. Most important Sitecore relevant sitecore framework.

a)Open Windows PowerShell (run as administrator)

execute Set-ExecutionPolicy -Scope CurrentUser Unrestricted

b). Install Sitecore Install Framework (SIF)

Execute below command in PowerShell:

  I.) Register-PSRepository -Name SitecoreGallery -SourceLocation https://sitecore.myget.org/F/sc-powershell/api/v2

 II.) Install-Module SitecoreInstallFramework

c).  If already installed update the SIF version

Update-Module SitecoreInstallFramework -force
